Rs 500, Rs 1000 Currency Notes Stand Abolished From Midnight : PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 currency notes are illegal as of midnight. Old Rs. 500, Rs. 1000 notes illegal from midnight. Citizens have 50 days from Nov 10 to December 30 return notes at banks and their nearest post offices. Modi added that there will be no change in any other form of currency exchange be it cheque, DD, payment via credit or debit cards etc.

Old Rs. 500, Rs. 1000 notes illegal from midnight
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced old notes of Rs. 500, Rs. 1000 will not be acceptable from the Tuesday midnight all over India. Making these notes invalid in a major assault on black money, fake currency and corruption. But you can use these notes on the places list below till November 11 such as :
Till November 11, the following government-authorised places and institutions will continue to accept Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes for payment:
- hospitals
- Railway, airline, bus ticket booking counters
- Petrol, diesel and gas stations authorised by public sector oil companies
- Consumer co-operative stores
- Milk booths
- Crematoriums and burial grounds
Banks and ATMs closed to public on Wednesday

Banks and ATMs will be close on 9th and 0th November. All the bank services will be closed on that day. You cant be use any of ATMs facility on that dates. Please support against the black money. co-operate with the government regarding this issue. Honest people fought against the corruption. Only few people are spreading corruption for their own benefit.
Way to exchange and deposit my Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes:
From November 10 till December 30 you can deposit the old notes at your nearest bank or post office accounts. But withdrawals from banks are capped at Rs 10,000 per day and Rs 20,000 per week. This limit will be increased in the coming days.
You can also exchange Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes for lower denomination at banks, head post offices and sub-post offices. However, the exchange limit has been capped at Rs 4,000, and you can exchange till November 24. One must produce a valid government identity cards like PAN, Aadhaar and Election Card. Banks will remain closed on November 9 allowing them time to cope with the new directive. Co-operate with the government and stop the corruption.
New Currency Notes
In return of your Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes RBI will be issuing Rs. 2000 note. The note of 2000 will be issued by November 10 onward. These notes will have new design.
